The question

Do you know that you have eternal life?

Not hope so. Know.

Many believers live with a question mark over their salvation. Some were taught to look inward at their feelings or their progress, and nothing they find inside is ever quite enough. Some ran into a hard verse, read it out of context, and nobody ever showed them what it meant. Some have been told they can lose what Christ gave them, so they live wondering whether their last sin was the one that finally counted.

John wrote his first epistle so that would stop. This devotional works through the same ground he did, one reading at a time.

How a week works

He came to that assurance the same way he hopes his readers will: by studying the Bible until the doubts had answers.
